Den’s Lifetime Soundtrack

An extremely personal view of popular music from a kid growing up in the 1950s, teenage years in the 1960s, married in the 1970s, relocation and professional success in the 1980s, personal upheaval in the 1990s and the exciting independence of the 2000s.

I always had a great feeling for popular music, and have almost continuously kept at least one ear open to what was going on. It is only in later life that I started to seriously listen to Classical music, and I’m afraid I can’t listen to Rap for more than a minute or two before glazing out. Things I really didn’t rate long ago, such as Abba and Blondie now sound better – what’s that all about, senility?

It’s difficult to put down this stuff without being wordy, so to help things along, I am leavening the narrative as I grind through it by adding in some Track Summaries from each decade….I hope it encourages a few people to give a listen to some things they might otherwise have not known about.
